What Causes Yellowish Discharge On The Foreskin Of A 95 Year Old?
I was asked to get urine sample from my 95y/o father. When pulled back on foreskin of penis it was coated with yellow/white thick cheesy discharge. it looked liked a yeast infection. My father was in pain when
cleaned with pad given to cleanse area. Skin underneath was bright red. The doctor did not do anything or say anything about it. My dad just finished course of antibiotics. Does this need any medical intervention?
Hi, Thanks for asking. Based on your query, my opinion is as follows. 1. Any yellowish discharge is usually pus. As it was not cleaned regularly, it was very thick. 2. Below the discharge, you can always see some amount of inflammation. Not to worry, once the infection is under control, it will slowly heal. 3. If the course antibiotics was completed recently, the infection might be resistant. He will require a culture of pus and specific antibiotic treatment. Hope it helps. Any further queries, happy to help again.
