What Causes Yellowish Fluid Leakage From The Ears After Treating A Cold?

I have had a cold virus for three weeks. The sore throat and cough has disapated. But I am left with fluid in both ears, so have lost some hearing and this am I had what sounds like crumbling paper sounds in my left ear. That has since resolved but now small amounts of a sticky yellow fluid is leaking from that ear.

Hi..
Thanks for the query..

If there is sticky yellow discharge from the ear then it is probably a sign of ear infection..

You should consult an Emergency room or a Physician and get your ear examined..

If there is infection in ear then you can be advised a course of antibiotics like Augmentin and also antibiotic ear drops..

Manual cleaning of ear can also be done..

If there is congestion in ear then decongestant nasal drops can help in improvement.

Hope this helps..

Regards.
