First of all, please do not boil an apple before feeding it to the baby as this destroys all the water-soluble nutrients and those that get damaged with strong heat! You may give her raw, grated apples, and all appropriate food for her age. You may also give her curd, bananas, etc. as there is no evidence to link the type of food (cold foods etc.) with colds.

Pediatrician Dr. Diptanshu Das's  Response
Thanks for posting your query at HealthCareMagic. Most of the cough and cold are caused due to viruses. It generally has an allergic component too. If she has a temperature, the temperature needs to be kept in control by the use of paracetamol and cold sponging. An antiallergic like Syr. Ascoril LS should help.

Feeding is to be continued as earlier. No restrictions. You can give her boiled apples. Give her boiled rice based food with pulses and vegetables, all mashed together. Give such food at interval of 2 hours or as demanded by the baby.

Hope that helps. Feel free to communicate back in case of further queries if any.

Pediatrician, Pulmonology Dr. Sumanth Amperayani's  Response
Hi...
1. You can give boiled apple - no problem.
2. No need to avoid ay food during cold. and cough.
3. You can give solid food for any number times...only issue is if the baby is accepting it - you can give as she demands.
If you give more sold food, she will more healthier.

Regards - Dr. Sumanth.
