What Could Bronchovascular Markings In X-ray And ESR Blood Report (45mm) Indicate?
I am 66 years old man. I have prominent bronchovascular markings in X-ray PA report & 45 mm ESR in blood report. I have problem of cough in last week, then these tests have done on me, now cough problem decreased but little prblem in swallowing. is it any major disease. mail ID : - YYYY@YYYY
This always means either infection in respiratory passages or fluid overload. Infection may be acute or chronic. If radiologist reports increased broncho vascular markings but clinical situation is not supporting any thing it can be ignored and film should be taken as normal.
In cardiac failure cases so called reversal of pattern of markings occur. There is increase in markings in mid zones due to fluid overload. Actually this is not reversal. This is only increase in mid zones.
In chronic bronchitis, markings are increased. In emphysema, these are decreased in hyper inflated areas. In collapse of the lungs beyond the line-demarcating lung, these must be absent.
Hope you find it out useful.
Thanks & regards, Dr. Gaurav Prajapati
