What Could A Itchy Dry Patch With Red Raised Circle In Between The Crease Of Vagina And Thigh Signify?
I noticed a dry patch on the side of my vagina near the crease of my left thigh after I showered it appeared to turn into a perfect red raised circle with regular flesh tone in the center and only the ring being red. It also itches slightly. I have had a history of Lyme disease in the summer but it was treated and presumed to have been cured. What could this be?!
I would keep a possibility of fungal infection / tinea cruris. It presents as ring shaped lesions with raised scaly rim and central clearing.
If I was your treating dermatologist I would have asked you to apply a topical antifungal cream e.g clotrimazole twice daily for 2-4 weeks.
An oral antifungal e.g fluconazole once weekly for 4-6 weeks, can also be started in consultation with your dermatologist.
An OTC antihistamine e.g cetrizine 10 mg once daily would help in symptomatic control of itching.
take care regards
