What Could A Mass Between The Urethra And Bladder Be While Experiencing Frequent Painful Urination And Blood In Urine?

My 16 year old daughter had a sonogram that showed a 12x10x10 mass between her urithra and bladder. The imaging said it was most likely a submucosal mass, they also said this may be a neoplastic bladder mass. She had a renal sonography done and the doctor said he didn t see any mass. She still has lots of unusual symptoms. Frequently urinating, blood in the urine, pain with urinating and now she loosing lots of hair. We go to a different specialist tomorrow. My question is, is it common for there to be a mass of this size on a sonogram and it be a mistake?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

As there is hair loss significantly there sounds to be grave internal pathology. The idealist approach is CT scan, cystoscopy with biopsy confirmation of the tissue diagnosis of the mass.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel,
