What Could A Painful Cut Above The Anus Indicate, Earlier Had Abscess?

i have in the past had an absces at the very top of my butt crack.. about 5 years ago. about 2 days ago it started to get sore in the same area. but now its not a bump or anything, but its a cut maybe a cm long.. hurts like hell. cant sit or bend, what should i do?

Thanks for your query.
Noted the history and understood your concerns.
Since the abscess in the top of butt crack was 5 years ago, this may not be related with the present problem.
Since there is a cut of about a cm length and paining to much, it may be the inter-gluteal dermatitis causing the cut in the skin in middle with secondary infection causing so much pain as you have explained.
I would advise you the following in such a situation:
Consult your Doctor for examination and giving you proper antibiotic and anti-inflammatory medication cover.
Apply liquid Povidone iodine locally and see the results.
If there is an abscess development, you may need an incision and drainage surgery.
If there is development of a Pilonidal sinus, you will need an excision of the sinus for a permanent cure.
