What Could Absence Of Fetus Heart Beat During 7th Week Of Pregnancy Suggest?
hi i m 7 weeks 5 day pregnent and my baby size is 1.3 cm but no heart beat yet.doctor asked me to come on this monday for another ultrasound.is it any problem? it is my first pregnancy after 3 years.my doc told me that if there is no heartbeat on monday then she will do an D and C of me.i m really scared
at 7 weeks its a pretty earlier to conclude on absence of fetal heart beat. At seven weeks, the heart beat is normally observed but that depends on the sensitivity of the machine used and on the expertise of the sonographer.
More so, the gestational age could not be exact in which case the right gestational age is less than the assumed gestational age hence giving a false impression of absent fetal heart beat.
the right thing to do is to repeat the ultrasound as requested by your Obstetrician so that, a right impression could be obtained given that the pregnancy would have evolved to an advanced age.
