What Could Be Causing Brown Skin Discoloration On The Thigh And Abdomen While Suffering From Gout?
Female, 51. Had thyroidectomy in Jan 2014. Diagnosed with primary lymphedema affecting feet and lower legs in past 4 months, recently diagnosed with possible carpal and/or cubital tunnel syndrome although nerve conduction tests and xrays say no carpal tunnel, no arthritis. Also high uric acid level indicating gout. Swelling in both hands progressively worse over past few months to the point that I cannot make a fist with either hand now. My question is about brown splotches on skin that are appearing at top of outer thighs, lower abdomen and in past few weeks on inside of lower arm from wrist to mid arm....along the same path as my visible veins. Do you know what could be causing the brown discoloration? I m seeing a rheumatologist for first time in two weeks for other issues.
Perhaps it is a fungal infection. I request you to kindly upload a few images.
