What Could Be Causing Burnt Popcorn-tasting Burps, Diarrhea, And Vomiting Every Few Months, Mostly At Night?

I have burps that have a burnt popcorn taste and usually I have diarrhea and vomiting when these burps happen. It is not a regular occurrence but every couple of months something like this happens. It mostly happens at nighttime so I try tums which usually just makes it worse. Hope you can help thanks.

Hello,

Your symptoms are indicative of food poisoning & indigestion, it occurs due to taking contaminated food. Inflammation of the stomach and intestine is similar to gastroenteritis. Antidiarrheal and antiemetics medicine will help. Once vomiting stops, you can take water and fluids in sips throughout the day so that you are not dehydrated. Take antacids or PPIs, one stat so that you get relieve from discomfort and stomach cramps.

Avoid taking food to which your system is sensitive or intolerant. Always take popcorns in moderation. It has high fiber content. Popcorn when taken in excess causes bloating and gas in the stomach. It accelerates the digestion rate & may cause severe stomach aches and cramps. Do not overeat popcorn, the fiber content may cause diarrhea. Avoid taking flavored popcorn, which contains spices and fat to avoid heartburn and discomfort.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
