Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
my daughter has diarrhea that just does not go away. she may have a bowel movement that is a bit solid but then it goes right back to diarrhea. Her mother tells me it is intolerance to fruits, milk, etc... I am concerned that her mom is dismissing something that may be serious. We share custody, so I get my daughter every other weekend for 3-4 days at a time. I have made an appointment with Gastroenterology. Can you please advise this has been going on for several months.
Your daughter having intolerance to milk that is dairy product so could have lactose intolerance.....
So if she is having diarrhea from dairy product than they should be avoided ....
While having diarrhea maintain hydration.....
Meanwhile investigate her with ..... -USG abdomen -stool examination
If chronic parasites infection is there treated with suitable drug like albendazole ....
If stool shows pus cells than treatment for dysentery done by antibiotic like metronidazole ....
If stool sticky , with mucous examined for lipid also ....and if with time problem not resolved than colonoscopy might needed and biopsy taken for histopathological examination...
Take care ...
Hope I have solved your concern...
