What Could Be Causing My Worsening Knee Symptoms After It Gave Out Suddenly, Despite Trying Compression, Ice, Exercise, And Medication?

My knee has been bothering me for weeks now. It started with just slight pain here and there. Then it started feeling like my knee was tingly and not connected. Yesterday I bent down and my knee completely gave out and I fell. I immediately felt pain and started crying. It’s been 7 hours since then and my knee is on fire. Walking hurts, it feels numb and tingly, it feels loose and weak. I’ve been doing compression, ice, exercise, and meds and nothing really helps. I’m not sure what it could be or what to do but it’s getting worse

Hello,

Get clinically examined by an orthopedist, get X-ray done to detect any bone dislocation, fracture or trauma. Get CT and MRI if required done to detect any ligament or tendon tear or any other pathology that is causing you symptoms. You will have to get done some blood tests to detect gout, arthritis, RE or OA, etc.

Your treatment will depend on the diagnosis made. In the meantime, do not strain your knee. Keep it at rest. You can get it gently massaged with pain relieving ointment or by spraying Volini over the area affected. It will give relief. You can also take naproxen, one stat after food to help relieve soreness, inflammation and pain.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
