What Could Be Causing Pain On My Right Side And Pelvis, Along With Nausea And Vomiting, Given That I Have Type 2 Diabetes?

Hi, I have a pain on my right side of waist and where pelvis is. Yesterday was very bad, I thought I d would wind up in the hospital. I also threw up 3 x s, very little but light yellow clear liquid. Just to let you know I have type 2 diabetes. Today I thought everything is ok, but pain is coming back. I have an appointment next month with my primary. What do you think this could be? Thanks

Hello,

Your symptoms may be indicative of appendicitis, diabetes can be associated with liver issues like non-alcoholic fatty liver disease, gall bladder (gallstones or cholecystitis). Type 2 diabetes can sometimes affect the gastrointestinal system causing the symptoms you are experiencing. Other underlying conditions causing similar symptoms are constipation, acid reflux, etc.

Get clinically examined by a GP and get required blood test, urinalysis, imaging tests done to detect the pathology causing you symptoms. Take boiled food for a couple of days and avoid taking hot, spicy fried food. Take boiled water and fluids adequately. To get rid of pain you can take antacids and pain-relieving medications.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Nupur K, General & Family Physician
