What Could Be Causing Short Breath, Stabbing Pain And Heaviness On My Left Side Right Below My Breastbone?

I am having heaviness on my left side right below my breastbone and at times I have a stabbing pain. I am 58 years old a female. Also I have chronic asthma and at this time I am experiencing shortness of breath. I cannot get my deep breath. The pain is like underneath my ribs. What could be causing this problem?

Hello welcome.. Substernal pain might be due to acidity and dyspepsia if it is burning in nature.. Beware if u r taking steroids for asthma.. It might cause gastritis.. U should also go for resting ecg also to rule out any heart trouble.. And it might be musculoskeletal also.. Just follow my above advices and u surely find your answer.. Have a nice day dear..
