What Could Be Grown At The End Of The Catheter Making It Difficult To Remove?

my husband just had a catheter removed today. the doctor said all went well, except he had to make an incision further down because there was a blob of something grown into the end of the catheter. could u explain this to me and what it means. he has been using his arm, fistula, for awhile now and is working good.

Urologist 's  Response
Hello and welcome to HCM.
As an Urologist, who's very experienced in fistulas, the blob is a blood clot.
If you mean the catheter used for a dialysis, it's usually due to a blood clot, formed at the tip of the catheter.
That blocks the catheter completely, and isn't usable anymore.
Hope your doubt is cleared.
