What Could Be Perfectly Round Circle Of Dry,flaky, non Itchy Red Skin On Arm About 1.5 Cm In Diameter?

Hi,

I have a perfectly round circle of dry, red skin on my arm. It is about 1.5 cm in diameter. It looks very flakey but doesn't itch, hurt, or feel otherwise different from the rest of my body. I have no other symptoms and didnt injure the area. The patch has been there for about 1 week. What could it be?

Thankyou for your help

Hi,

It may be pityriasis alba. It is superficial eczema. There may be some cause...like sunrays, dry weather, dust, atopic diathesis, infection anywhere in body, infestation of parasites like roundworm. You consult dermatologist. And have firm diagnisis. Ringworm, a fungal infection should be ruled out by KOH test. Mild steroid cream or tacrolimus oint might improve the disease. Suspected cause may be treated. You may be alright. I hope you got my answer.

Thanks.
