What Could Be The Black Colored Fluid Through The Rectum?
I passed about a pint of black tar colored fluid through the rectom. Just immediately prior to that I had a severe cramp left and across lower stomach. Did that come from the appendix? Was repeated 2 days later but not as severe and black. Since then I cannot have a bowel movement unless I take a laxative. Your answer.
Hi. Thanks for your query. Noted the history and understood the concerns. A pint of black tar colored fluid through rectum means this is most probably due to bleeding in the upper GI to mid-colon region. Constipation after this episode is not understandable but can be due to a mass obstructing somewhere or that needs good clinical evaluation and examination by a Doctor or a Gastro surgeon. Investigations needed are as follows: CT scan of the abdomen. Colonoscopy after preparation. Upper GI Endoscopy. Tests of blood and urine. Stool tests very important. All this will lead to the proper diagnosis and give a plan of management.
