What Could Be The Cause For Blurring Of Optic Disc Margins?

While performing an examination of the eyes in a client of yours, you notice upwardly slanting palpebral fissures. When would this find be normal in a client? Secondly, when performing a retinal examination on this patient, you discover that the margins of the optic disc become blurred and indistinct. What further testing would be required and what is the foremost cause of this clinical finding?

Hi,

I would do MRI brain and optic nerves and also get a neurology opinion asap. It could be an ICSOL or a BIH.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Harshita, Ophthalmologist
