What Could Be The Cause For Irritation In The Groin Area?

A few days ago I noticed a discomfort in the upper thigh/groin area, didn’t think much of it and as the days went by it started to become much more irritating and uncomfortable, from what I’ve researched, I believe I might have jock itch? I don’t know the technical term for it I apologize. Within the past few days I’ve noticed the area between my upper thigh and groin become irritated and slightly hurt, after a couple days it got a bit redder and the pain was slightly worse. I have no bumps and it doesn’t itch, it’s more like a slight stinging. Just wondering what it could be and any possible treatments?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

Most probably it will be a jock itch.
As first line management you can apply topical antifungals like clotrimazole for symptomatic relief.
If lesion persists better to consult a dermatologist and get evaluated.
Keep the area clean and tidy.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
