What Could Be The Cause Of Extreme Fatigue In A 5 Year Old ?
HI, MY CHILD IS 5YRS OLD AND SHE IS ALWAYS TIRED. SHE IS IN KINDERGARDEN WHICH IS ALL DAY AND BY THE END OF THE DAY SHE IS KNOCKED OUT AT THE AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAM. I PICK UP HER GENERALLY AROUND 5PM (HARD TO WAKE HER UP) AND BY THE TIME WE GET HOME, DO HOMEWORK AND EAT SHE IS BACK IN BED BY 7PM. THE LONGEST SHE CAN STAY UP IS UNTIL 7:30PM...SHE HAS STARTED WETTING THE BED AGAIN BECAUSE SHE DOES NOT WAKE UP AT ALL DURING THE NIGHT. WE USUALLY GET UP AROUND 6:30AM TO START THE DAY AND IT IS EXTREMLY HARD TO WAKE HER UP...I BOUGHT AN ALARM CLOCK AND SHE SLEEPS RIGHT THROUGH IT. IS THIS NORMAL OR SHOULD I BE WORRIED?
Hello;
Thanks for your query.
Normally kids are energetic and do not get easily tired.
Although a child may get tired after long day at school,playing but by morning she should be up if she sleeps around 7-7.30 pm.
Get her investigated by discussing with your Paediatrician to rule out anaemia or any other medical condition causing this.
I would suggest you to consult a Paediatrician and get started on multivitamins and calcium supplements.
Hope this answer is helpful.
Take care.
Regards
Because of too much tiredness she is facing difficulty to wake up but in morning she will wake up. That ' s why i suggest you to visit to your pediatrician for investigating for anemia
Bed wetting is normal phenomena which is stopped up to 5 yr of age. but if this repeated then first check her fluids and tea before going to bed. if this is not control then consult to your pediatrician.
Hope that this will helpful to you.
