What Could Be The Cause Of Red Dots On Tongue?

I ate a baby bottle pop yesterday. I probably shouldn't have eaten all of the powdery sugar that comes with it, all at once, but I did. Now I have these little red dots all over my tongue and it feels like I drank something really really hot and burned my mouth, but I didn't. I'm sure it was because of the baby bottle pop. Now every time I eat anything it really irritates my mouth. How did a simple baby bottle pop do this to my mouth and what can I do about it?
