What Could Be The Clear Sweet Smelling Liquid On The Scalp At The Crown Of The Head?

For the past year I have been itching my scalp a lot. I know it is a terrible habit and I am trying to stop it. Just now I noticed I have lots of clear, sweet smelling liquid in my hair on the crown of my head that is originating from my scalp. I have taken photos of my scalp but there are no visible scabs there, and no blood. What could this be?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

It could be a fungal infection. As a first line management anti-fungal shampoo like ketoconazole shampoo can be applied. If lesion persists better to consult a dermatologist and get evaluated. A pus culture from the discharge will be appreciated.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
