What Could Be The Lump On Left Side Of Butt Hole?

Hi . I have a small lump on the left side of my butt hole it does hurt when I go to the bathroom #2. also hurts to sit down. I never had anything like this before and would like to here what you think it might be. I have it about 1 week already thank you.

Hi.

Thanks for your query. I noted your history of a small lump on the left side of butt hole, and it hurts to go to the bathroom. Also it pains while sitting down for the last 1 week. As per the short history you have provided, this may be due to the following reasons:

Perineal abscess- Just a boil that has not ruptured and evacuated. Fistula in a no. The best way to get this diagnosed is by the following:

- Clinical evaluation and examination by a General Surgeon.
- Per-rectal digital examination along with proctoscopy helps the best to know the probably diagnosis and gives a plan for surgery or other treatment options like medicines and so on.
- You will also need a course of an antibiotic and further management.
- Tests of blood, stool and urine. MRI of the area also helps a lot.
