Im 32 and I have found a small lump about the size of a pencil eraser under my areola. Doesn t seem to be too deep. Seems to be fixed and hard. I have no associated pain or tenderness. Cancer runs in family but not specifically breast cancer. At first I thought possibly a cyst or infection but again no pain or tenderness. Should I be worried.
Hello dear I understand your concern Lump under the areola could be fibroadenoma, fibrocystic disease, infection/abscess, breast cancer. Sorry to say it could be a cancer as you have family history, fixed and hard lump. I would suggest to consult the general surgeon and get examined. I would suggest to go for USG guided FNAC, USG scan, to rule out the cause. If FNAC will come inconclusive then EXCISION biopsy is the best. Further treatment will depend on the specific cause and test results. Hope this may help you
