What Could Be The Pointed Flap Of Skin Under Tongue Which Gets Enlarged Occasionally?
There is a pointed flap of skin under my tongue, (attached by a membrane), that sometimes gets enlarged with a dot of white on the tip. It is not really sore but feels weird when larger. What might cause this and medical treatment or over counter remedy? Thanks!!
thanks for your query, i have gone through your question, the enlarged flap could be because of the inflamed salivary gland duct opening secondary to a stone in the duct or bacterial infection or trauma... take a topical analgesic and anesthetic like anabel gel, apply 3-4times daily... you have to take a mandibular occlusal radiograph to rule out any stone in the gland and duct... consult a oral physician as early as possible.. i hope my answer will help you... with regards Dr. Mahesh Kumar T.S
