It seems from the history that your husband is having blurring of vision and blackouts of vision.
These symptoms indicate transient ischemic attack as told by your ophthalmologist and require further evaluation by your physician to rule out common causes like carotid artery problems, atherosclerosis, hypotension...
Hence I advice you to consult your doctor for examination and treatment accordingly.
