What Could Be The Reason For Abortion?

Hello Dr,

I did a pelvic scan on 31th of July (I am pregant) and the baby was health wit good cardiact activites at 10 weeks and 2 days.

I did another last nite and I was told no cardiac activity was seen and the baby is still 10weeks and 2 days.

I'm scared and worried, what could have happened.

Hii..... Gone through your query. There are many causes for such problem but broadly can be something with the baby or the envoronment like uterus.
Some times even baby has some problem, but so early it can not be detected but nature has its own way of selecting and ultimatly it is aborted. This condition is relatively better one in respect to your future pregnancy as it mostly will not repeat and specifically only that baby was affected.

If its a cause related to uterus there is chances it may repeat in future pregnancy but definitely its not too high.
So my advice after abortion go for a fetal autopsy or detailed study to pin point the cause.
