Hi,I am Neethu Vipin (Dietitian & Nutritionist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Can you tell me My husband is not a big eater, but doesnt excercise and in the last 2 yrs has developed a very big belly that just seems to get bigger and bigger,He has no appetite with food and he doesnt eat alot either.Do you think it could be something wrong or just that he need to exercise? Thanks
It would be a good idea to have a doctor look at him and see what this is. Especially if the rest of his body seems thin and the big belly is very prominent. I would be concerned that something serious is going on. His belly could be full of fluid (ascites) which could indicate a serious problem like livercirrhosis or even cancer. I would not ascribe it simply to lack of exercise without having a doctor examine him first. Has he had a recent check up and bloodwork? I think it is really important to get this done to be sure it's not a potentially serious condition. Hope this helps.
