What Could Be The Reason For Having A Painful Itchy Sore?
I have gotten a painful itchy sore about once a month for the last few. The first one was on my left bicep close to the elbow, the second was on my finger, the third was on my calf. I had suspected a bit because they were happening at night. But the other day 2 showed up on my right bicep close to my elbow. They start out a nothing, just itchy, When I scratch them they get bigger and hard and they are painful and puss filled. What else could it be? I suspect a flea/spider but haven t been able to find any.
According to your complaints it seems to be folliculitis which is inflammation of the hair follicles.
I would recommend you to take oral antibiotic like tablet cephalexin 500 mg twice daily for 7 days and apply neosporin ointment or fusidic acid cream on the affected areas twice daily for 10 days.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
