What Could Be The Reason For Having Missed Periods And Severe Pain On Her Stomach Area?
My daughter is having severe pain on her right side (stomach area) what could it mean? She is 26 years old. She has taken a pregnancy test with a doctor yesterday and it came out negative. She has not had a period in 2 months. The doctor said it is stress.
The possible causes of right sided abdominal pain are: - Gastrointestinal factors like appendicitis, inflammatory bowel disease etc. - Urological factors like stones in kidney, infections - Premenstrual pain or ovulatory pain - Rarely, if the pregnancy test gave false negative result, then pain due to ectopic pregnancy etc. has to be ruled out. - Stress and strain also sometimes can lead to physical symptoms.
As she is having severe pain, better let her undergo ultrasound once, which will help in finding the exact cause of the problem and treatment can be planned accordingly.
Antispasmodics can help to decrease the pain to some extent, then targeting towards the specific cause can cure the problem.
