What Could Be The Reason For Having Rapid Heart Beats After Working Out At The Gymnasium?
I was working out at the gym and after 40 min of cardio and then some weights I was just walking to cool down and my heart started beating rapidly. I sat down and took my pulse and it was 157 beats per min. This lasted for about 3 min and then it settled down. I have had this before mostly with cardio and working out. My doctor says dehydration. I am a 43 year old female
When ever you do a rigorous physical activity, oxygen demand increases in our body. To meet the oxygen demand our heart needs to work further more by increasing its rate and volume
As it cannot increase the volume much due to lot of reasons, what it does is, it increases the heart rate to meet the oxygen demand
So dont worry it is a normal phenomenon
thanks
