What Could Be The Reason For Having Sore Neck And Pain In My Neck And Leg After A Fall?

I was out skiing on Monday and on my last run I managed to fall over and land on my back hitting my head as I fell. I have been getting a sore neck both sides and when I lay down the pain gets worse. Also my right leg gets sore when I move especially walking up and down stairs. I would really like to know why my neck and leg hurt.

Hi,
It is most likely that you are suffering muscle and soft tissue bruising which will be painful but not serious in the long-term. You have suffered a whiplash injury to your neck which will take some time to settle.
I suggest you take paracetamol and ibuprofen for the pain. Keep mobile rather that rest. Your injuries are likely to resolve in a week.
Regards,
Dr K A Pottinger,
