What Could Be The Reason For Having Sore Throat And Drainage In Throat?
I have been having a very sore throat. Whenever I wake up my throat is congested in a way and I can barely breathe, so I have to cough a bunch of times to be able to breathe better. I have been getting sudden headaches and weird stomach aches. I am having drainage in my throat, but I always do!! I always having drainage. I am not sure if the drainage is the main problem.
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of sore throat and drainage in throat which is due to upper respiratory tract infection. I would suggest you to do gargles with warm saline water , drink plenty of fluid to keep your self hydrate , take ibuprofen (if not allergic ) or acetaminophen for pain and inflammation and take over the counter antihistamine like benadryl. Avoid hot, sharp , spicy food substances and carbonated beverage If symptoms persist or get worse then you should consult ENT specialist for proper examination and to rule out conditions like acid reflux and bacterial infection. Doctor may order blood test or throat swab test to confirm diagnosis . He/she may prescribe decongestants , antibiotics/antiviral depending upon your condition .
Hope your concern has been resolved.
