What Could Be The Reason For Having Steady Flow Of Dark Brown Blood A Week Ahead Of Periods?
hi i took next choice within 3 hours of having possible unprotected sex, it may have broken, so as a precaution took pill...now i am experiencing a steady flow of dark brown blood i m thinking it s my period...but its one week early...is it just my period?
Hi, Thanks for the query. Emergency contraceptive pill will have high dose of hormone. That can affect general hormonal balance in the body and can lead to withdrawal bleeding. Possibly that may be the cause for your bleeding. Brown color of the blood indicates collected blood. You can consider it as withdrawal bleeding. Possibly you will not get regular periods after one week. After one month of withdrawal bleeding you may get periods. Better to avoid regular usage of emergency contraceptive pills, as that can lead to complications like menstrual irregularities. There should be at least 2 months gap between usage of two emergency contraceptive pills. Take care.
