What Could Be The Reason For Itching In Shoulders After Shouder Surgery?
Hi, My husband had shoulder surgery now once in both shoulders.. He has been itchy everysince.. He took very little pain medicine.. just the first couple days. and he just itches all the time.. no rash or signs of anything. Could it have been the anthestic? I have Triamcinolone Acetonide Cream usp,o.1% here that we used another time I had a skin rash , it was prescribed.. Would that help him from being so uncomfortable?

I can understand your concern for itching in shoulders after shoulder surgery in your husband. There can be multiple possibilities of your concern and it is too early to make a diagnosis.
It can be simple dryness or pruritus seen post surgically. The only precaution you must follow is not to touch, pinch pop or squeeze any of them other wise it can get infected and can cause complications.
You can apply medium potency steroid cream application such as mometasone or fluticasone cream. As you have Triamcinolone Acetonide Cream so you can apply this cream also as an immediate measure to help him out. You can take antihistamine benadryl or loratadine by mouth.
