What Could Be The Reason For Pain In Abdomen, Bloody, Dark Plum Colored Stools With Brown Mucus Discharge After Childbirth?

I had a baby 3 months ago, she was 4 weeks premature but with no complications. About 3 week s ago, I had severe abdominal pains down my lower left side and passed dark plum coloured stools followed by blood. I went to hospital but was sent home. The next day I started to have Brown mucus discharge from my vagina, it was a very small amount and only when I wiped after going to the toilet, the past couple of days it s gotten a lot thicker, like small clots sometimes accompanied with a small amount of bright red blood! I should also mention that about a week before all this happened, I took the morning after pill, I don t know if this is relevant.

The morning after pill can cause such side effects,but it shouldnt last long. If it doea resume for more than 7 days, do report to your doctor for further examination.

As for the dark colored stool, this will have to be examined. I would request you to request for a stool analysis and occult blood in stool analysis, for further confirmation.
