What Could Be The Reason For Spotting With A History Of Abnormal Menstrual Cycles And Over Weight ?

Hello, I am a 34 year old african American woman who is currently over weight (my weight fluctuates tremendously). When ever I am heavy I have abnormal menstrual cycles (by abnormal I mean it's a No Show) I've recently lost 20lbs but I am still over weight. Any way, I got what I thought was my menstrual, when I wipe down there the tissue is pink but I've worn a pad for two days... and, well it's nothing on it. I don't have children and I do hope to have a child one day. I'm not sexually active at the moment and I have abstained from intercourse since March of 2913. Should I be concerned about what seems to be spotting?

Hi
Change in weight can have an impact on regularity of menstrual cycle. As you have variations in weight so much you could have hormonal irregularities. You have to rule out thyroid abnormality also by doing a thyroid profile. As you want to get pregnant you should check Fsh and LH levels and your ovulation.Better have a consultation with your gynecologist. You might need an ultrasound examination to find the status of uterus.hope this may help you.
thanks
