I would really suggest you go for an NCV of the affected
limbs. to me it sounds something like a
radiculopathy as well as a neuropathy. I think an NCV will help us know where we stand. the other causes of radiculoathy should also be tested including vit b12 and
tsh (for
thyroid).
assuming that i am wrong in my thinking, i would also suggest him to get his vitamin D and bone scan also.
he is a doabetic and i am sure/hopeful that he is regularly tested for his
diabetes related tests, like cbc, kft etc
meanwhile meet a local dr for starting
gabapentin or pregabalin
