What Could Be The Reasons For Having Tiredness, Chest Pain, Sore Throat, Stomach Pain And Achy Eyes?
Hello. It's not me who's ill but my boyfriend. He's saying he's feeling sick, but not vomiting. He's feeling faint, he has chest pains and he's got a sore throat. I thought it could be a chest infection at first but then he began complaining about stomach pains and achy eyes. He's 18, do you have any idea what could be wrong?
Hi, thank you for the query. With this presentation, I think it is a condition called gastro-esophageal reflux disease (GERD). Successful treatment needs medications and lifestyle changes. I would suggest that he tries a proton pump inhibitor like Omeprazole (Prilosec over-the-counter) in association with antacids for about a month. Lifestyle changes involves staying up for at least 2 hours after meal before going to bed, avoiding food that might worsen the condition like fatty foods, alcohol, spicy foods, caffeine-containing foods and chocolate. He also needs to avoid non steroidal anti inflammatory drugs. I believe this would help if he tries it.
I hope that answers your query. If you have additional questions or follow up queries then please do not hesitate in writing to us. We will be delighted to answer more questions from you. I wish him good health
