Hi,I am Dr. Santosh Kondekar (Pediatrician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Could Be The Red Marks On The Arm Of My Baby?
My son is 4 months old and I just noticed some red marks on his arm this evening. I picked him up out of his crib, and saw that he slept on his arm with the indentions of the blanket. So I didn't think anything of it until later when I saw the lines. I thought that it was scratches at first but there is no sign of penetration of the skin's surface. I am concerned and debating of whether or not to go to the prompt care unit tonight. My two older kids have been known of ruptured blood vessels in their past as babies, but not as long as the one on my youngest. What should I do? He's not acting like anything is wrong. Will this clotting travel in his body to his heart or brain?
HI Thank for asking to HCM I really appreciate your concern looking to the given history here I could say that the baby be must be having some non specific kind of skin lesion and this could subside on its own no need to teat this lesion you need to wait little longer time, only matter is to rule out the possibility of congenital skin lesion, hope this information helps you, have a nice day.
