What Could Be The Red Puss Filled Lumps Under Both Armpits For A Person Undergone Treatment For MRSA?
I have little red puss filled lumps under both armpits that keep coming back some turn into really bad one that are very deep and take weeks to heal... It isn t an ingrown hair but had an order to it... Kinda concerned I was treated for MRSA a while ago and wondering if this could have something to do with it???
There are two possibilities for your kind of symptoms:
1. hidradenitis suppurativa : this is the most likely diagnosis in you case. It is a disease of apocrine glands which is characterized by multiple deep seated, pus filled lesion associated with comedones, scarring, sinus formation. This kind of disease a prolonged treatment with antibiotics and retinoids.
2. Recurrent folliculitis (infection of hair follicle): Very unlikely diagnosis which presents as pus filled raised lesion.this would require to get a pus culture and sensitivity done to find any resistant organism and to treat accordingly.
I would suggest you to meet your dermatologist for diagnosis and its treatment.
I don't think that treatment for MRSA has to do anything with it. Both look purely co-incidental events to me
Thanks
