What Could Be The Side Effect Of Taking Tramadol For A Long Term?

I have chronic pain that has been diagnosed as fibromyalgia, along with tendonitis in my elbows and hands, and other pain throughout my body. I take sertraline for anxiety, lyrica and trazadone for my fibro, and tramadol almost daily to help with the pain ( once a day, in the morning) It helps me get through the day, and seems to help also with a little bit of energy, and helps with my concentration. I am a single divorced mother of three kids, I work full time, and go to college. My job is very physically demanding. Are there any long-term health issues for taking tramadol long term, especially with my other meds? I don t know what else to do, because it really does help. Thanks for your time! Deanna

Thanks for query on HCM.
Long term use of tramadol may be associated with physical dependence and a withdrawal syndrome.Tramadol causes typical opiate-like withdrawal symptoms as well as atypical withdrawal symptoms including seizures.
It is better to switch over to other nsaid by tapering tramadol.
Take B12,folic acid,calcium,d3,minerals,l-carnitine and other supplements.
Physiotherapy will be more helpful.Apply nsaid gel locally.
Keep in touch with your doctor.
