What Could Bloody Stools With Sickness Indicate?

my friend is at work scared out of her mind because she has had a lot of blood in her poo lately (not just a little bit on the toilet paper) enough to make the water turn read and shes been in pain and feeling sick. should she come home and go to a doctor?
