What Could Cause A Bruise In The Foot That Is Hurting And Keeps Growing?

I have just sat down on the floor on my knees with my feet under my bottom and felt a pain on the top of my foot where the joint is, when I looked at it a bruise just appeared and grew bigger, it s not hurting any more but I was just worried about it as nothing like this has ever happened before?

Orthopaedic Surgeon, Joint Replacement 's  Response
It look to me that you are having ankle sprain. I would suggest you to take rest, avoid jumping or running, apply ice over bruise and take Brufen tablet. Compression bandage can also helps. Do not keep standing on affected side for long time. If it progresses or your pain increases then take a xray of ankle joint to make every thing is normal with your bones inside.
