What Could Cause A Congested And A Pricking Feeling In The Throat?

Hi, its been 7-8 months since i am smoking regularly. I have 5 brands in this peiod. Last month I suffered from cough and felt like something was struck in my throat. Doctor told me its some smoke congestion thing and normal with smokers and gave me medicines and said it doesn t look like cancer. Now i am still smoking but i have drastically reduced it to just 1-2 cigs a day...still I feel this irritation and sometimes feel like something is pricking my throat just behind my uvula. Please help .

AS you decrease smoking problem also decrease.Better to stop it at all.You may suffer from big hazards if you don't stop. Already whatever damage done, it can not be healed. So please stop further damage.
