Hi,
Heavy menstrual bleeding can be mostly due to
hormonal imbalance
thyroid or ovarian problems, PCOD)/
fibroid uterus/
endometriosis,/ pelvic inflammation/ blood coagulation defects with severe anemia.
You have been advised
Duoluton L by your doctor for the problem.. it mostly helps hormonal imbalance >> and usually a course of 3 months is needed to control it.
You had already taken it for the last 6 months, without much of relief.
* In such case, I would advise consulting a gynecologist.
You would be subjected to investigations to find the exact cause of the bleeding (Hormone assay, thyroid function test, blood counts, USG abdomen ).
After pinpointing the exact cause, you will be given specific treatment that will help you.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Ivan R. Rommstein, General Surgeon
