What Could Cause A Large Lump On The Shin?

My son has a large lump on his shin - he's had it for about 2 weeks and doesn't seem to be getting any small. It has no coloured bruising and doesn't really hurt and he is stilll doing lots of sport I just wondered if this is normal?he did tell me that he bashed his shin several times with his scooter. Do we need to take him to a doctor to get it checked out? He's no bothered abou it.

Hi. The young ones are really not much bothered about such problems unless they cripple them. The lump on the shin has to be seen by a Doctor and better to have a scan if your Doctor suggests so. This may just be a hematoma.
