For the past 5 days I have had an intense throbbing and pulsating pain on the right side of my head. Start around the base of my neck and works itself around the ride side to the top, side (temple and eye). It lasts all day. The pain pulsates when i change position, sit or stand up. On a scale of 1 to 10. Mostly hangs at a 7-9. Have had to use BC powder to try to function for a few hours at a time. Also taking Valerian root to try to sleep. I drink plenty of water and do not smoke and eat a pretty healthy diet.
As per your complain you have problem of pulsating headache with pain at base of skull that may be because of neuralgia problem or other reasons. Occipital neuralgia cause a pulsating headache and pain during a movement also.
Migraine also cause unilateral pain with vision affected and nausea or vomiting problems. Consult a neurologist for further diagnosis. Ct scan and MRI can done for further diagnosis.
