What Could Cause A Stabbing Pain In The Neck, Right Ear And Right Side Of The Throat And Swollen Parotid Gland After A Tonsillectomy?

I have had pain in my right ear.. I did have pain on the right side of my throat (that is gone now). I had my tonsils removed 4 years ago. I am also having sharp pains down the side of my neck on the right side. my Parotid gland is swollen as well. I m a hot mess. I went to my Primary 2x and he said I have a bulging eardrum. I asked for a referral to an ENT and have to wait until mid October. Should I just go to the ER? The shooting/ stabbing pain in my neck is really freaking me out. Thank You!

Hello,

Possible that parotid swelling due to parotitis or eustachian tube block or middle ear infection or pharygitis or mums.

Until examination is done it is difficult to say what it is.

Use antibiotics and painkillers medication.

Get oral cavity and neck examination is done then consult your doctor he will examine and treat you accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
