What Could Cause A Swelling On The Side Of The Neck?

I have a swelling on the side of my neck that is Soft and spongy and about the size of the inside of a quarter (just inside the outside rim). It reminds me of a swollen gland, but I am worried about it all the same as it is still there after about a month. I will be having an ultrasound next week but still I am worried and curious... Do you have any idea what it could be?

Are you feeling any kind of pain or fever. Does this swelling is rubbery. If it is pain ful it is a lymphnode, it drains infected fluid from near by area at can become large, (Like in tonsils). It can be a lipoma if it is not paiful and rubbery, It is swelling made up of fatty tissue, and usually not cause any problem, so You can check your self. Post your ultrasound report also.
